I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. I was homeschooled through high school and graduated summa cum laude from the University of West Georgia with a BA in History and Political Science. I currently teach English and Government at an international school in Madrid, Spain.
My academic writing focuses on religious practices in the Imperial Roman army and on pre-Augustinian Christian attitudes toward war and military service. Other areas of interest include the World Wars and Soviet/post-Soviet Eastern Europe, particularly Poland and Ukraine.
I write historical fiction and fantasy, almost always dealing with social justice, religious faith and practice, and moral gray areas against a backdrop of war. I am a member of the Historical Novel Society.
