Hello everybody! First, an apology for (once again) neglecting this place. Second, I wanted to give you guys a quick update about some Important Things pertaining to His Own Good Sword. I’d intended to wait a bit later before making this announcement, but things have progressed a little more quickly than I expected, so I’m making it now, just to forestall any questions.
I’ve decided to terminate my contract with the previous publisher of His Own Good Sword. What this means, first and foremost, is that the book will soon be unavailable for purchase, if it isn’t already (I believe the listing has already been removed from the Barnes & Noble site, and the Kindle edition is no longer available from Amazon). I apologize for any trauma this may have caused, but don’t despair just yet: I am releasing a new, self-published edition on May 7th. The new version has been reedited to fix some issues present in the first edition; it is, I think, a much stronger book. It has a shiny new cover, as you can see. What’s more, it includes—in response to popular demand—a Map (woo!) and a Character Guide (woo!). And right now you can enter to win a softcover copy of the new edition from Goodreads.
Also worth mentioning: His Own Good Sword has received two lovely new reviews in the past week, so check those out if you haven’t already! Angela Goff (@angela_goff) reviewed it on her blog Anonymous Legacy, and Daniel Swensen (@surlymuse) reviewed it on Goodreads.
